What is this site about?
This website provides information on the Chinese painting and calligraphy collection in the Seattle Art Museum, as part of the Online Scholarly Catalogue Initiative (OSCI) sponsored by the J. Paul Getty Foundation. To learn more, click here.
How do I use this site?

How do I favorite an artwork?
Users must first register. After registering, users can create collections, and add artworks by clicking "add to my collection" buttons.
What if I forgot my password?
If you have forgotten your password, you can click the login link in the footer toolbar and select "forgot password?" to retrieve your password.
How do I become a scholar on the site?
When registering, scholars can apply for scholar status by checking the "Check here if you are a scholar" box and filling out the appropriate information. If you have already registered, you may login and submit the same information under the profile tab. A site administrator will review the scholar status request for approval. Approved scholars on the site have a scholar icon indication next to their comments.
What is a region tag?
Region tags allow users to select a specific area of an artwork to link to their comments. Users must be registered to leave comments.
How can I contribute as an essay author?
You are encouraged to submit an essay for any work in Group 3. If your submission is accepted, the object will be upgraded to either Group 1 or Group 2. For more information on the differences of the four groups, see our about page.
